City Sightseeing incorporating Guide Friday

This is a world wide brand that majors on Open Top bus tours and we are licensed to use it within Oxford. Currently the brand is represented in all the major tourist cities and towns in the UK plus locations throughout the world in places as diverse as Sydney, Australia; Istanbul, Turkey; Paris, France; most major cities in Spain and a growing number in Italy.

Oxford Operations

Our tour operates 7 days per week, 362 days of the year. The first tour departs at 09.30 and the last at 16.00 in winter and 18.00 in summer. The tour lasts for one hour but as tickets are valid for 24 or 48 hours, passengers may hop on and off as they please.

Our buses are mostly fully open top, however two have partially covered top decks. All have an easy to use multilingual commentary system, operated by the driver, delivering up to 13 languages simultaneously. Most tours also have a live English speaking guide in addition to the multilingual commentary.

Drivers

As we are busiest in the summer months, most of our vacancies are available between March and September each year. We occasionally have positions come up outside of these times. Our seasonal vacancies are a mixture of full and part time hours.

• Latest finish time: 1925 in summer, 1730 in winter
• No early or late turns of duty
• Start and finish at our depot in Osney Mead, Oxford

Drivers should possess a full PCV licence(manual or automatic), first class driving skills, an outgoing friendly personality, exhibit exemplary punctuality, and be able to adapt to operational change. Above all, drivers must make customer satisfaction their top priority.

Our guides are often congratulated on the quality of their tours, and their pride in showing visitors around our famous historic city.

Sales Staff

Our sales staff are often the first point of contact with customers. Applicants must be people orientated, sales driven, and have first class customer care skills. We offer a free smart uniform, competitive rates of pay, and a generous commission on ticket sales. The earliest start is 0900 and last finish is 1700hrs.
