Our private walking tours are customisable to suit your group’s interests. Tours last up to 1.5 hours and are led by expert local guides who bring Oxford’s stories to life – from the colleges and cobbled streets to famous film locations and literary legends.

Tour details and fees

Our private walking tours are customisable to suit your group’s interests. Tours last up to 1.5 hours and are led by expert local guides who bring Oxford’s stories to life – from the colleges and cobbled streets to famous film locations and literary legends.

• Price: £150 (including VAT) for an English-speaking live guide for up to 1.5 hours
• Extra time: £40 per hour (including VAT)
• Group size: Up to 20 people per guide
• Add-on group members: Additional £50 for up to 5 more people

Starting points

We can meet your group at any central Oxford location to begin your walking tour. For coach groups, we recommend:

• Outside the Oxford Playhouse, Beaumont Street
• Oxford Railway Station forecourt (also our office location)

Things to note

• Entry Fees: Tour cost does not include admission to Colleges or venues. These must be paid separately on the day.
• College Access: Some Colleges do not accept group visits – please check with us in advance if you have a specific venue in mind.
• Late Arrivals: Guides will wait for up to one hour free of charge. After this, extra time will be charged at our hourly rate.

Payment and cancellation

• Payment: Due ten days before travel unless credit terms have been pre-agreed.
• Cancellation Fees:
  • 10 days or more: No charge
  • 6–9 days: 10%
  • 3–5 days: 25%
  • 1–2 days: 50%
  • Day of service: 75%
  • 1 hour before: 85%
  • After departure: 100%
• Cancellations due to poor weather will be charged according to the same schedule.
