Families can explore Oxford’s hidden gems and iconic landmarks for a reduced fee after City Sightseeing Oxford slashed the cost of a family ticket on its popular bus tours.
The tour bus operator has cut the price of a day pass for two adults and up to three children to £49 as part of a drive to boost the city’s visitor economy, support its tourist trade and encourage locals to explore Oxford’s rich heritage.
This special offer will run throughout the summer months, extending into September and October. Families are able to hop on and off the bus as many times as they wish during the tour, which typically lasts for one hour and passes 20 stops.
Key sights en-route include the Bodleian Library, Ashmolean Museum, Oxford Castle, Christ Church Cathedral and historic university colleges.
The discounted family ticket also includes complimentary access to one of City Sightseeing Oxford’s daily Stepping Through Oxford walking tours which deep-dive into the history of the city’s main attractions.
Luke Marion, Managing Director of City Sightseeing Oxford, said:
“We have so much to be proud of by operating in Oxford and connecting tourists and locals alike with the city’s history.
“We’re continually exploring how we can encourage people to visit Oxford and boost the city’s visitor economy which plays an essential role in maintaining its economic health by supporting the tourism, hospitality and retail sectors.
“There’s no better way to explore Oxford than from the heights of our all-electric double decker buses with commentary from our friendly and expert tour guides.
“Our family ticket offer represents fantastic value which we hope will help to drive footfall into the city as people take advantage of the longer evenings and better weather.”
Each City Sightseeing Oxford tour provides audio commentary in 14 languages, plus a version for children which includes interactive quizzes.
Discounted family tickets are valid for up to two adults and three children, aged 5-15, with under 5s travelling for free. The offer is valid until Thursday 31st October 2025 with tickets available online via this page.
Tickets can also be purchased from City Sightseeing Oxford’s Visitor Information Point on High Street, plus from its friendly on-street ticket sellers and bus drivers.
